How to get rid of house gecko

Not everybody likes to keep geckos as pets, and one might want to get rid of them at the very moment you spot them. They may simply not like them and find them as unpleasant creatures. In that circumstance you can simply overcome them .

For example, House geckos do not stand certain smells. Literally , House geckos cannot stand the onion smell and garlic.

Simply you can place them in the corners of your home. Next you can place small fans so that that smell will spread all over the rooms/ kitchens.

Apart from that, you may also use naphthalene balls as House geckos cannot tolerate them as well. Having said that you need to practice this with caution as they could be harmful for the children. Hence, you need to keep them away from the kids. Ensure that you clean the cabinets properly. Further clean under your sinks and always try to keep them dry.

House geckos prefer to have humid areas and if there are humid areas, it would be more attractive towards the House geckos. Furthermore, House geckos hate the smell of eggshells as well. Hence, you can simply place eggshells in your house so that it will keep those away from your home.

Make sure that you do not keep  the House geckos exposed for leftovers in the house or for any other food source.

House geckos tend to invade the leftovers as they are fond of eating those. Furthermore, they would be fantastic breeding places for them as well. When there is open food, it would attract flies and other bugs. Consequently, it would attract the House geckos too. Do house geckos make good pets?

You can keep the House geckos as pets  as long as you can care for them properly. When taking care of them, you need to ensure that you provide the required housing space for them.

However, a medium sized terrarium would be sufficient for them. Male House geckos are somewhat aggressive.  As such you need to keep them only in a tank. When we consider the female House geckos, they are not that aggressive when compared to the male House geckos.

You can keep both male House geckos and female House geckos in the same tank given that you provide a separate space for them.

Moreover, you should ascertain that you provide a humid environment also for them. Besides, it is important that they get adequate temperature levels as well. Ideally a daytime temperature level of 75-90 degrees Fahrenheit ( 23-32 degrees Celsius ) would suit them the best.

On the other hand, the ideal temperature at night should be around 65-75 degrees Fahrenheit ( 18-23 degrees Celsius). Moreover, if you find it difficult to supply the relevant temperature during nighttime you may consider having a red bulb so that it would generate the additional heat.

Apart from that, you need to provide calcium supplements twice or thrice a week. Besides, you need to provide multivitamins once a week too.

House geckos tend to eat crickets as it is one of their major components of their diet. So, you can simply apply these supplements on cricket or worms and then feed them through  that. You can feed the adults daily.

Ensure that you clean their droppings as unless it would cause unnecessary hygiene problems. Hence, I recommend cleaning the water tank once a week. When cleaning, ensure that you rinse it well and then scrub so that there will be no odors remaining there.

Simply, House geckos would be a good pet type simply because they are nonviolent. Further the ability to live in urban areas is another reason for them to be a good pet type.
